Andrea Hamlin, MS OTR/L
Andrea Hamlin is a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist with over 14 years of experience working with children from birth through 18 years of age.
Andrea strives to provide support to children and their families through individualized treatment planning. She believes that each child and family is unique and deserves their occupational therapy experience to be just as unique as they are. She believes that children learn the best through fun and engaging activities that address their goals. Andrea strives to support children to reach their fullest potential.
She has been privileged to work with children with a wide array of diagnoses and many unique needs. Andrea has continued her training in Sensory Processing, Feeding (SOS Approach to Feeding), The Alert Program for self-regulation, visual motor skills, and is a certified handwriting specialist with Handwriting Without Tears.
Before moving to the Boulder area, Andrea spent three years living in Stavanger, Norway, to foster her love of new cultures. Andrea spent time volunteering in the local international school, working with students worldwide to address concerns with handwriting. After returning to the United States in 2015, Andrea continued to pursue her love of helping students by stepping back into her role as an occupational therapist providing local school services.
Prior to that, Andrea worked at Leaps and Bounds, Inc. just outside of St. Louis, MO. During her time at this sensory-based clinic, she focused her treatment on sensory processing and how it impacts each child’s ability to succeed. She provided interventions that addressed each child’s skills and supported their families to improve their functioning at school and home. Andrea worked with children in early intervention through high school, which brought a great appreciation for the different challenges children face at different life phases.
Andrea also has experience working with medically fragile children through inpatient, rehabilitation, and neonatal intensive care units at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.
Andrea earned her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy with a concentration in pediatrics from Washington University in St. Louis.
When not providing occupational therapy, Andrea loves spending time with her husband, three daughters, and their family rescue dog, Marco, while enjoying all that Colorado offers.
